Getting to know Star Candy

Star Candy got a fake ID last weekend, but don’t let that intimidate you. She is an average Skyline student who likes to read, write and hang out with friends.

But unlike most students, Candy does not have a Myspace account.

“I deleted mine,” she said. “So I’m over it. People talk on AIM, it’s the next step up. People use it to gossip and see pictures.”

Her favorite music is house and techno and during her spare time, she goes to clubs.

Her favorite Simpsons character is Bart. This may explain the fake ID, as she likes the character because he always gets in trouble and is funny, according to her.

Candy may seem like a great person to be friends with, but I know you’re asking yourself, “is her name actually Star Candy?” Well, sorry to disappoint you, but it isn’t.

She is Stephanie Uniacke, a Journalism 120 student, and don’t sell her alcohol because her ID is fake!

So what’s with the name Star Candy?

“Candy sounds kinda trashy,” she said when asked what name she would choose if she was a pornstar. “And Star 'cause it’s pornstar.”

Life of a fast food employee

Fast food is cheap, but that doesn't mean it's the best choice of food for someone with a low budget. As a manager for a San Francisco branch of one the biggest fast food corporations in the world, I serve you your burgers and watch you stuff your faces and get fat. Now does it make me happy that every day, a store makes close to $7,000 a day serving unhealthy burgers for $1 a piece to hundreds of customers? No. In fact, I wish that most of you would look at the menu disgusted and walk right out of the store. You might be asking yourself "then why don't you quit and find a new job?" One word: money.
